SESSION 7 – Risk Modelling, Simulation and Quantitative Assessment Tools for CBRNe Scenarios
Quantitative modelling and simulation are essential for anticipating, analysing, and mitigating CBRNe incidents. This session focuses on computational, physical, and probabilistic approaches that enable accurate prediction of dispersion, contamination, exposure, and health outcomes. Topics include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Gaussian plume and puff models, stochastic and AI-assisted simulations, and real-time data assimilation from sensors, UAVs, or satellites.
Submissions exploring dose–response assessment, multi-scale modelling, and uncertainty quantification are encouraged, as well as those describing field validation campaigns, benchmarking exercises, and interoperability with Decision Support Systems (DSS). The session also addresses the use of digital twin environments and immersive visualization tools for planning and training.
This track serves as a bridge between fundamental research and practical application, demonstrating how advanced models contribute to preparedness, operational decision-making, and resilience building across all CBRNe domains.
