SESSION 3 – Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins & Decision Support in CBRNe Risk Management
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Twin technologies are transforming how CBRNe events are anticipated, analysed, and managed. This session focuses on the integration of AI, predictive analytics, and simulation environments into risk assessment and operational decision-making. Topics include sensor fusion, early-warning algorithms, automated triage, and adaptive planning tools that support dynamic crisis management.
We invite studies demonstrating how Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and data-driven Decision Support Systems (DSS) can predict dispersion, dose, contamination, and exposure in real time. Papers addressing model interpretability, data governance, validation, and compliance with the EU AI Act are particularly relevant. The session also welcomes research on digital twin ecosystems, combining physical sensors, simulation models, and operational dashboards to support both training and live incident management.
Authors are encouraged to discuss performance evaluation, uncertainty quantification, and how AI-enabled systems enhance human decision-making without compromising accountability or transparency.
