MODELING AND SIMULATION, DIFFUSION AND DISPERSION

Description

CBRNE events may disperse harmful agents into the air, water or onto the soil. The prediction of where this material may be is essential for prevention, response and to reduce the impact of the event.  In order to achieve these goals, Modelling and Simulation is a useful tool that can be used to estimate both the location and concentration of deposited material. The use of mathematical models as a basis for simulations has been applied to simulate the dispersion of harmful substances, such as chemical compounds, radioactive materials, as well as biological warfare agents. By coupling clinical models to numerical simulations, it is possible to get accurate information about the potential effects on human health following a CBRN event.

The session is aimed at bringing together researchers and experts in the following fields:
